Hanging In There

Geez, this has been a busy week. I have so many more patients now than I used to...my patient load has almost doubled from what it was a year ago. I've got to go to the office week after next to train the person who will cover for me while I'm on maternity leave, so I've been trying to type up "cheat sheets" to make it easier. I also have to get Savy to swim class every afternoon, and we're still getting baby stuff ready. Time certainly flies these days!

I had a checkup on Wednesday. My doc said everything looks great, and I've only gained a total of 23 pounds for the entire pregnancy so far....I think I'm going to make my goal of staying below 30 lbs total. I'm still walking 2 miles a day (when I can drag myself out of bed early enough to do it before it's too hot), and I even jogged (just for a short distance) a couple of times. I've made it to the gym 2 or 3 times in the last couple of weeks with no contractions...things are going pretty good!

The new swing I ordered arrived yesterday, so we put it together last night.

Savy put her Taz doll in the swing to test it out. She wants very much to get in there herself...we had to lock it up in the bedroom so she can't break it.

Christy, you are so smart. I don't think I would have the energy to walk 2 miles a day if I were pregnant. I am cooking for you. I have made you a chocolate chip cake, a big pan of good chicken and dressing, and am working on vegetable soup today. I am also going to make you chicken and dumplings. Tell me if this sounds o'k. I will send it by Debbie next weekend.

That sounds great! The less I have to cook after the baby comes, the better.

Do you want a pecan pie? I know they freeze well.

No thanks on the pecan pie...nuts are risky when you're breastfeeding because they can worsen colic.
