Strike A Pose

I've got a lot of catching up to do on my posting! The weather has been so nice this week, we've been staying outside as much as possible.

Savannah went to Katie's Sweet and Sassy birthday party on Sunday. This was Savy's first time there, and she LOVED it. They did a great job with the party, and all the girls had fun.

First all the girls got to choose an outfit. Then they got their hair and makeup done. You can't see Savannah in this shot...she's on the far left end.

The "do".

Getting her nails done.

They played freeze-dance.

Then everyone got to walk the runway for a fashion show. Savy was in rare form - she really worked it!

Monday was beautiful and sunny, so we went to the playground. I think Scarlett could swing all day long.

Savannah realizing she's not quite ready for the monkey bars.

Scarlett is quite a little climber.

Yesterday the girls both got haircuts.

I can't say this is Scarlett's first haircut - we all know Savannah did the honors on that one. But this is her first "professional" haircut. She was such a big girl!

I have to brag on myself again. Yesterday I completed Week 6 Day 3 on C25K...that's a 25 minute run with no walking. It wasn't bad at all, probably because it was so cool yesterday. According to the application on the i-phone, I ran just under 3 miles without stopping.

More good news - the reactions at my injection sites are getting better. For over a week now, there's a lot less swelling and redness, and it doesn't sting nearly as bad now.

I'm so excited about seeing Jennifer this weekend! She's going to be doing family photos for us on Sunday, and I can't wait to see her!

Life Is Good

I am so proud of myself! I've been dreading week 5 day 3 on the C25K program - it's a 20 minute run with no stops. I did the 5 minute warm-up, then I started the run thinking I'd just try to make it to the halfway point before I stopped. When I heard the prompt say "10 minutes left," I was ok, so I thought I'd see just how close I could get. And I finished it without stopping! I really didn't think I'd be able to do it - yay, me!!! Jon and I are both on the same day for C25K now. What's even more surprising is that I actually beat Jon's time for the 20 minute run.

Jon rescued a turtle from the road yesterday. Savannah ran to get her Dr Seuss book so she would know how to take care of him.

He's not too happy about being her pet. Don't worry, he'll be set free at our neighborhood pond tomorrow....hopefully Crazy Pete will go with him.....

Don't forget to donate to our team for the MS Walk on April 2nd - please support CHRISTY'S CRÜE!

Sneak Peak

Savannah finally learned how to tie her shoes!

I was trying to take a pic of Jon giving Savy a high-five, but Scarlett jumped in the shot.

We were finally able to give Savannah her "prize" for learning to tie her shoes....the karaoke machine.

She loved it!

I know what we'll be doing at our next party!

Now I've got to make her a stage.

I worked on my sister-in-law's table today. I wasn't going to post pics until it was finished, but I changed my mind and decided to give a sneak peak.

I've still got to sand it and finish it, but it's turning out great so far!

This is a kid's dining table for Lesa's lake house. I designed the base to hold a basket for storing kid's dishes when not in use. I'm also going to build some little bench seats to go with it.

Kindergarten

I've barely had time to enjoy my week off so far...we've had lots to do every day. Monday we went to Fayette Academy to register Savannah for kindergarten - I can't believe she'll be starting this fall! Not only that, Scarlett will be starting preschool 2 days a week this fall (she'll be going to the same one Savy's in now). I'll be all by myself for the first time in a looong time.

I'm feeling a little emotional at the thought of Savannah being gone every day. Luckily, she loves school and can't wait to start kindergarten. I hear really good things about Fayette Academy, too. It's a pretty small school, and it reminds me and Jon of the small private schools we attended when we were kids. We took a walk around the grounds after we finished with registration.

Savy checking out some deer tracks...they were all over the place.

Sweet little garden where the kids can grow stuff...they assured us it looks a lot better in the summertime.

Scarlett had her 18 month checkup yesterday. Her pediatrician said she's doing great. I think she's part monkey...climbing on EVERYTHING now. I caught her on top of the kitchen island last week.

Can you believe that?

I finished out week 4 of Couch to 5 K just before the cold weather hit. So far I've been able to complete every day on the first try. I have to admit I'm a little apprehensive about week 5...that's where it really starts getting tough. Since it's been too cold and rainy to run, I've been going to the gym. I really like the new one, so it's worth a little extra driving to get there. I've been thinking about getting a personal trainer to help me with weight training...not my favorite thing to do, but I really need to start.

I was a bit discouraged the first few times I worked out after being diagnosed. I was so fatigued and hadn't really exercised much at all since Scarlett was born. But I'm getting back in shape much more quickly than I expected. At first I was worried that I wouldn't get back to the level I was before my last pregnancy. Now I know I'm going to be even better!

Is There A Goat In Here?

Little Miss Scarlett is following in her big sister's footsteps and getting ALL of her teeth at once. I know she has to be miserable...poor thing. She woke up several times last night, and Jon wound up sleeping on the couch with her. We've been finding teeth marks in some very odd places....like Savannah's METAL Hello Kitty bucket. Enlarge the photos, and you can clearly see the marks she left.

I got my first donation for the MS Walk today...thank you Nanny and Lee Ottis! I think we've recruited a couple more team members too. Don't forget to join the team or sponsor us! The MS Walk is April 2nd, and our team name is CHRISTY'S CRÜE ...yes, I'm going to harass everyone until it's over.

Tonight's dinner was black bean and pinto bean burritos with Greek yogurt and homemade guacamole. I'd been thinking about guacamole all day, so I just had to make some tonight....it was very, very good.
