Problem Solving Skills

Remember how I told you guys that we have to lock Savy in her room at bedtime lest she get up in the middle of the night and get into things? We started out with just a baby gate at her bedroom door. When she learned to open the gate, we started locking it with a snapping dog collar (I know, but it was all we had at the time). That kept her contained pretty well.
Well, last night I put Savy to bed, then Jon and I settled down to watch a movie...Doomsday...and it SUCKED if anyone was wondering. Anyway, we were about 20 minutes into the movie when I heard a door shut. We got up to see what was going on, and this is what we found.

Note the dog collar is still intact...her fingers aren't strong enough to release the clasp. So she just moved her rocking chair over to it and climbed right over. I hadn't even thought about her doing that, but I guess (after the fact) I'm surprised she hasn't done it before. We found her in her playroom...that was the door we heard shutting.

We went to see Coraline again today...this time in 2-D. Savy enjoyed it just as much the second time. I have to say that the 2-D version wasn't so great compared to the 3-D version. We went shopping after the movie. I bought Savy some really cute sandals for this summer. Went also went to Toys 'R Us in search of a sand table, but they didn't have the one I'm looking for.

My package (maternity clothes) was waiting at the door when we got home. I never buy clothes for myself from Old Navy, although I buy a lot for Savy from there. But I'm very impressed with Old Navy's maternity wear. I'll have to take pics of what I bought and review them soon.

What a clever girl :-) Kids can be so enterprising and we grownups tend to forget that they can come up with some amazing ideas to get what they want. Look at the bright side; she's showing excellent problem-solving skills haha. Hope she stays safe and you find a way to 'hem her in'. Have a great Tuesday!!
