Today Savy's preschool had their Easter egg hunt. Savy LOVES to hunt eggs...she's been excited for weeks now about Easter.
Savy and Audrey waiting for the hunt to start...you can tell from the red cheeks that Savy's been running around like a wild child!
Savy sitting quietly with her class...she started out good
But she has a pretty short attention span when she's excited.
Don't even ask
Ready-set-go!
Cool basketball egg
Anyway, on to our project. Savannah really loves books, and I've been wanting to find some way to display them so she can see the covers instead of having to drag them all off the shelf to find the one she wants. I've seen "rain-gutter" bookshelves on various blogs, but I wasn't too thrilled with the gutters. Then I came across this from Knock Off Wood.
I modified the plan to make them longer...perfect! This was a mother-daughter project...Savannah loves building things and refused to be left out of the fun. Here it is before we painted it. I brought it in to check the size, and Savy was so excited she had to go ahead and put some books on it.
We used the paint left over from my bench project.
I put them in the short hallway between Savy's bedroom and playroom...Scarlett helped.
Savy loves her new "library." They don't hold that many books, but I plan to change them out every now and then to keep things interesting.
