We had more company today...I started training the person who will work opposite my position for 7 on/7 off. I can't wait to have some time off...it's been 16 months since I've taken a day off, other than my weekends. Savy started out being shy but warmed up quickly. After lunch she was in Miriam's lap snuggling.
Savy asked to take a nap this afternoon, so I didn't worry when she got quiet. Later I discovered she got into the cookies before she went to sleep.
Notice the cookies all over the floor. I really don't know what gets into her!

Lazy Sunday
Today I took it easy. Savy let us sleep late for a change. After lunch, I tried again for pics of me and Savy together, but she was more interested in Spongebob Squarepants than the camera.
This afternoon, we went to pick up a glider for my mom. We wound up taking it out of the box so we could store it more easily. Savy now has a new playhouse. Sorry Mom...hope you didn't want the box. She loves it. That brought back memories of how my grandfather used to make these awsome playhouses for me from piano boxes.

Company
Saturday, I spent most of the day cleaning house. Savy fell asleep on the couch late in the afternoon. When she woke up, I tried to get a picture of the two of us together. She usually wakes up in a good mood in the mornings, but she is always in a foul mood when she wakes from a nap.
You can tell by her expression she was not in the mood for the camera, but Jon was a little more cooperative. He took a break from fixing our stereo/speakers to pose with me.
Saturday night we had a couple of friends over for dinner and drinks. We had a nice time and really enjoyed the company. After dinner we sat out front and talked for a while.

Savy's Favorite Thing To Do
Friday afternoon, we got out the bubble machine and played outside. Savy loves bubbles and could spend hours playing with the bubble machine.
When Jon gets home, she get's so excited and starts chanting "Daddy's home!" She is definitely a daddy's girl. She forgot about the bubbles and ran to give him a hug. Then she followed him around the yard and "helped" him spray weeds.
She looks so cute in her little cowboy hat, but she takes it off after a few minutes.

It's Paying Off Already
Not only is this blog incentive to take more photos, it is good anger management. For example, when Savy poured her milk out on her lunch plate and herself
Went to her closet and pulled off her wet clothes
Then dressed herself (pulling most of her clean clothes off the hangers in the process)
Instead of getting angry, I ran for the camera. She really did a good job...notice how she matched the brown dress to the brown pants...and both legs in one pant leg.
She was so proud of herself...how could I do anything but laugh and give her a hug?

Savy This Morning
This is how I found Savy when I went in to wake her this morning
The flash from the camera woke her, and she turned over and said "cheese" as she was stretching. She usually wakes up in a very good mood...I don't know why. She didn't inherit that trait from me...or her daddy (especilly lately, he even threatened to shoot Vita for waking him up today).
This blog is a great incentive to take more photos of Savy...I'm sure I'll be glad later on.

Peaceful Morning
Anyone who knows me well knows that I am not a morning person, but that is not the case lately. For about two weeks, I've been getting up at 6 am and going for a 2 mile run (rather than going with Jon late in the afternoon). I started doing it because it's not as hot that early and because Jon always has to push the jog stroller (for Savy) when we run together. Mainly, though, I started because Jon did not believe I would drag myself out of bed that early, and I wanted to prove him wrong.
I'm thinking that I might be a morning person after all. It's nice being up before everyone else...it's quiet and very peaceful. I enjoyed being alone outside and actually got to see my first morning glory bloom of the summer today.
I also got to hang out with Kallie (she's our pound puppy) and our cats, Ezra and Kiki. The cats love their cat run because they can go out, eat grass, and lie in the sun. I love it because I don't have to clean a litterbox!
